Gold Coast

This is a picture that I took over a year ago, when I went on a Holiday to the Gold Coast for the first time.

Twilight is my favourite book / movie series, so I decided to share a quote from the first book and some pictues.

I found my Slideshare experience very interesting and found that it was easy to use and naviagate my way around. The only thing I had trouble to start with was sharing things from it onto my blog.

This a photo of my two dogs. On the left is Bernie who is a Norfolk Terrier x Jack Russell and on the right is Muffy who is a Terrier x Corgie.

Flickr and Creative Common experience

I found Flickr was quite good and easy to use. And the Creative Commons I had never heard of before, but found learning / knowing about them interesting.

Information Literacy ( You Tube Video)

I had never heard of information Literacy until I started my TAFE course. When I did I was confused as to what it really was. The You Tube video Discover Information Literacy helped me to make more sense of it really meant / is.

It clealy defined what Information Literacy is which is knowing when there is a need for information and being able to Identify, Locate, Evaluate as well as knowing and being able to use that information effectively for the issue or problem.

Method.

The main points are Define what you're looking for. Inquire use a variety of different online resources. Search using more then 1 search engine.Collect all websites you have found to futher consider. Never steal a persons words or ideas without the permission of that person, remember to put it in your own words.Organise your information by what you need to help you.Verify authors of websites and make sure information is all true / reliable. Websites that end in .edu or .gov are most likely to be a reliable source as they are considered of high authority. Express publish the information you've attained in either a report or presentation format, communicate and share what you found out. Reflect on how your search went Do you need to further narrow your search topic? Find out more information? Did you find what you wanted / needed from your search?

Would I consider myself to be Information Literate and Why? Yes and No. I define what it is I am looking for and use a variety of different resources such as the internet and books, as well as organise the information that I find and express it by doing a report or presentation. I think that the things that I don't do or not much of I will from now on as I know about Information Literacy and the importants of it.
